html - How to use bootstrap to create responsive two-column layout with left column really narrow -

i have been using bootstrap responsive 12 column grid layout website.

i have layout follows (stripped down version example purpose)

<div class='container-fluid'>   <div class='row'>     <div class='col-md-1'>       left side contents go here     </div>     <div class='col-md-11'>       right side contents go here     </div>   </div> </div>

what need now, left side column wider want. how can make fixed-length narrow , still use bootstrap layout?

any appreciated!

a clean solution customizing bootstrap have more columns, answer:

how use bootstrap 16 or 24 columns

other alternative using nested rows, end problems unused space, suggestion customizing bootstrap.
